Social Security Reform: Revisiting Henderson, Poverty and Basic Income
Thursday 15th – Friday 16th February 2018
More than 20 expert speakers will gather to discuss the current social security system and how it can more effectively respond to issues of poverty and inequality in Australia moving forward.
Key discussion points include what changes have taken place since the 1970s and the Henderson Poverty Inquiry, how social security has responded to these changes, and what are our different options for reform, including proposals for some kind of a basic income in Australia.
