In 2017, the CYPC consulted with nearly 120 children to listen to their views about the life changes they see as significant and the things that help them most when they experience change.
The changes identified by children as being significant related to moving house or changing schools, and changes involving people close to children, such as friends and family. The children also gave practical suggestions for how adults could better support them when their life is changing, including adults:
- becoming involved in the activities and interests children have
- giving concrete strategies and advice
- talking about their own experiences.
