A large number of events are being held throughout Australia to recognise National Homelessness Week 2017.
Homelessness Week will be officially launched on Monday 7 August 2017 in Sydney and will and will be coordinated by Homelessness NSW. The focus of the launch will be the future of provision of services to people experiencing homelessness after 2018. The launch will be held at the NSW Teachers Federation Conference Centre from 9-10:30am. The launch will feature an address from Senator the Hon Doug Cameron, Shadow Minister for Housing and Homelessness, Jenny Smith (Chair, Homelessness Australia) and Katherine McKernan (CEO Homelessness NSW). There will be many other events during the week. These range from professional/sector development conferences and forums, homeless connects, individual fundraisers, community awareness raising activities and more!
In 2016, more than 100 events were held across Australia.
