Seminar will be held on Thursday 1 August 2019, Room 920, Melbourne Law School, 185 Pelham Street, Carlton, University of Melbourne
Guest Speaker: Associate Professor Bina D’Costa, ANU
Our lunchtime Migration, Refugees and Stateless Seminar series returns on Thursday 1 August with a presentation by Associate Professor Bina D’Costa from ANU’s Department of International Relations.
This seminar will focus the dynamics and complexities of children and young people on the migration pathway. How can we make sense of the constructions of innocence and vulnerability and the contradictory state practices and strategies that exacerbate protection risks?
This presentation provides insights from three recent global emergencies, and reflects on how evidence-based research and learning from experience can be used to strengthen global protection mechanisms.
